As smoke wood? It’s an oily wood. I’ve been using dead grey dried out pieces for kindling and it’s great for getting the wood stove going. Anyone tried for smoking? It’s smell ok when burning. May have to experiment.

In the Reno CL there is a gas assist performer for $25 with broken table. Looks in good shape. Sacramento CL there is a Weber fire pit for $90 in good shape. I’m out of the quick clean and flip for the moment.

I live at 6,000 feet altitude. Little bit of wind dry 80 degree day. The thin air does not hold heat when sun disappears in shade. Late evening. Fire up gasser. Grill shrimp. Heat coming off grill. Comfy!
