    Is this gas connection OK?

I usually don't see a direct connection like this, so I'm worried. Also, it should have plumber's tape on it, right? Should there be some sort of other connection. This is a Genesis Gold.

    Genesis Rehab

Replaced the hood and the wood ... it has been a couple of years since I did this, but I'm still enjoying it every day.

    Pastrami from corned beef

I've been excited about making pastrami out of corned beef, but I just saw that the use-by or freeze-by date is May 14. Throw it out, or go for it? Today is June 21.

    Durawood

The Durawood on a grill I'm trying to clean up has indents in it where somebody placed something hot. I think maybe the end of a rotisserie. There are a lot of them. I wouldn't mind flipping the Durawood slats over, but what would I do about the screw holes? Has anybody done this?

    Manifold maintenance question

I was trying to return a Genesis 1000 manifold to active duty this weekend, since I am in need of a grill after having lent my top cooker to a new neighbor who doesn't have his utilities connected yet. The manifold had been lying inside a grill over the winter without a hose connected to it. So...

Need Help Identifying Grill and Some Parts

Does anyone know what this is? A friend of mine gave me this sharp cart and some other parts, and I've been trying to make a grill out of it. The firebox I put in there seems to fit. It has five bars, and I assume it's a Genesis Silver B firebox, but I don't know for sure. The weird thing...

    Rehab beyond my skills?

A neighbor threw out an old gray kettle today and I rescued it for the time being so I could gather some intel on it. It is gray, as I said, with two nice metal handles (also gray) on the sides and a wooden handle on the lid. The vent rivet on the lid is installed in the lowercase b of Weber...

    Red Kettle Restore

I almost passed, but I felt it was my duty as a sworn bbq brother to rescue this red kettle today, but, truth be told, I don't know where to begin. Based on the N on the lid, it's a 1991. Obvious problems include that the outside of the kettle lid was painted, including the vent. There is no...

    Restored Genesis: My First

Thank you, all, for inspiring me to try this. I'm not quite done, but I couldn't wait to reassemble the grill to see how it looked. I thought I would "outsmart" everybody by leaving the pulldown shelf black, so that it would blend in as a part of the frame. But in the end I'm convinced that I...

Restore: Just noticed a cut in the gas line to side burner

Hmm, I'm hoping to restore a Genesis with the long bottom table and side burner, and I just noticed today that the gas hose to the side burner has a cut or two. I haven't connected to a propane tank yet, but I'm wondering if anyone had any advice on this. My options are to see if the cuts are...

Genesis restore question (1000 and 3000, NG and LP)

I have been a lurker for some time. This is my first post. I have a black Genesis 1000 (LP, shroud broken on the left side, where it connects to the pin). It has wood slats, at least on the left side, the bottom storage is missing. It is from the early 1990s, according to Weber CS. I also...
