    Longest......stall ever

Decided to smoke an 11 lb. picnic (local store had no butts) for Christmas dinner. Put it in the bullet yesterday afternoon. Luckily wasn't in a rush, after 25, yes, 25 hours, at 235 the internal temp would not go above 180. Foiled it and put it in a 300 oven for an hour and got up to 185. Now...

    Recharagable battery recommendation for PartyQ

Hey there Joey, I started a new thread a couple of days ago about this. In case you didn't see it, I've had my party Q for a couple of years now and have tried different batteries. I just picked up some Panasonic Eneloop rechargeables to try and they worked great. Lasted 14 hours in 5° weather!

    Party Q rechargeable battery experience

Just wanted to post a quick observation. Smoked a couple of butts new years eve. It was 5° outside and breezy. Just picked up some Panasonic Eneloop rechargeable and though I'd give them a go. Well, 4 AA in my party Q lasted the entire 14 hour cook with no problems at all. Your mileage may vary.

    "pre smoking" my bird

Hey folks, haven't posted in a LONG time. So, I smoke a turkey every year on my WSM. This year however, our son is hosting his first Thanksgiving at his new home. Of course everyone still wants a smoked turkey. I REALLY do NOT want to move the WSM to his house. Now he lives only about 25...

Smoked Tri Tip Chili on a Cold Rainy Day

Thanks for sharing this. I made a version using a couple of sirloins (tri-tips are hard to find in my neck of the woods) and it came out great!

    New Q220, not loving life

Bill, your Parrot Head story is exactly why I'm keeping it. The grill definitely has it's place. It's just not what I was expecting.

    New Q220, not loving life

Update; Cooked some burgers last night and they came out pretty well. I started the same as I did the previous night. The biggest trick appears to be opening the propane tank valve VERY slowly and yes, letting the grill pre-heat for a good 15-20 minutes. I guess my bottom line is that this...

    New Q220, not loving life

Okay, I opened the propane tank VERY slowly this evening, could hear the gas rushing into the line, waited about 2 minutes and then lite the grill. Seemed like it got pretty hot. Kind of hard to tell because I was using it to cook 50 littlenecks but it did the job rather well. Maybe all is not...

    WSM Outside?

Mine lives outside all year with the innards inside of it. I've had no issues and it's going on 10 years now.

    New Q220, not loving life

Pat, I am 100% certain that if I put a platter with 2 t-bones on the side tables of my Q I'd have some really happy dogs because those steaks would hit the ground but pronto. They are very flimsy and will not hold any weight at all. My entire Q experience has me REALLY rethinking Weber in...

    New Q220, not loving life

Thanks for the replies. First, I was mistaken, it's a @200, no thermometer. And I have tired Bill's starting procedure. Not liking Dan's comment about the Genesis, if it's worse than this Q then I don't know what to do for a gas grill.

    New Q220, not loving life

Ok, I'm bumming even more after reading some of these posts and hearing folks rave about their Qs. I purchased a new Q220 about 3 months ago, with the 20 lb tank hose and stand, not a cheap purchase. It was to supplement my 22 inch one touch and my WSM. I really prefer charcoal but sometimes...

    Good prices for charcoal?

Shaun, Where are you located? In the Northeast Wegman's sells their our brand of lump made, I believe, by royal oak for around $6 for a 10lb bag if I remember correctly. It's pretty good stuff too.

Pork Roast on WSM or Webber Kettle?

    I vote for kettle too.

    El Gaucho Lump Charcoal

Thanks Mike! I frequent Home, Hearth and Grill, nice folks and good stuff. The Cabelas/Freds combo trip is a great idea. I head out to Cabelas every so often and never thought of that. Duh. Guess I'll be driving down to Plainfield before the weekend and pick me up some Gaucho. I'm planning on...

    El Gaucho Lump Charcoal

Mike, Where did you get the stuff? I live in NJ too and I'm always looking for places local to buy new different, better, lump. I notice you've got some Hump Lump too. Did you get that locally? Thanks, Chris
