    Insane deal at Home Depot

Just picked up my new 18.5" WSM for $41. Thanks to W Tyler for posting that inventory list. I got the last one at the Brooklyn, Ohio store today. It was actually a display model and had been sitting outside. A few dents and dings and the charcoal grate was rusty but for $41 who cares?! This...

    Commercial sauces and rubs

I like Bad Byron's Butt Rub, Plowboys Yardbird rub and Texas BBQ Rub. Some sauces I like are Sweet Baby Ray's, Bullseye Original and Bone Suckin' Sauce.

    Range Master briquettes

I was in Aldi the other day and they had Range Master Briquettes on clearance for .99c for a 16.6lb bag. I picked up only 2 bags because I don't know if they're any good or not. Has anyone ever used these? I emailed Aldi to try to find out who makes them. Haven't heard from them yet. If...

What are your plans for Superbowl BBQ?

Going to a buddy's house and taking a dutch oven full of Keri's Hog Apple baked beans. Just got done rubbing the butt that will go in it. Only need a pound so there will be lot's left over. Lucky me!

    cousin's OTG melted

He sent me one that was taken on his phone but it's not that good. I'll try to get some better ones and then try to figure out how to post them. I tried posting the one from the phone late last night and was having trouble. I'll see if I can get some so we can figure out what went wrong.

    cousin's OTG melted

Hey George, I appreciate you apologizing. I know sometimes things you type don't come across as they were intended. I'm not leaving. I love this site too much to go anywhere. Just about everything I've learned about grilling and smoking came from this site and the knowledgeable and friendly...

    cousin's OTG melted

I don't want to get into an argument on here because I respect the forum that Chris generously provides for us. The post I am referring to is the one that says "I don't think the whole story has been told" To me that sounds like someone is saying I'm not telling the whole truth. I'm only...

    cousin's OTG melted

The brand of lump used in this grill was from GFS(which I assume is made by Royal Oak). It was lit on a propane burner and then put in the kettle. No accelerants. Like I said in my initial post, we used it that day and the next day he called me and told me what happened. It's not my grill and I...

    cousin's OTG melted

Like I said we just had a chimney of lump set on the charcoal grate, letting it heat up to caramelize our sauce. Nothing out of the ordinary I don't think. I hope he is just upset and will get over the whole "I'll never buy another Weber again" stage. He tends to get upset pretty easy about...

    cousin's OTG melted

My cousin has a 22.5 OTG that's approximately 2-3 yrs. old. A couple weekends ago we cooked in a rib cookoff and this was one of the grills we used for glazing the ribs. Anyway, when he got the grill home the next day he discovered that the metal that holds the ash catcher on had melted in...

    more ribs=more time?

I'm entering my first competition tomorrow. It is a local rib cookoff put on by a private club. I'll be using a double stacked 18" with four cooking racks. I think I can stuff 16 rolled racks of St. Louis cut spares in there(I hope anyway). My question is, will my cooking time increase with that...

    Probe holder?

I use the clip from a deep fry thermometer. Just slide the probe through both holes and clip it to the grate. Can mount it on top or bottom of the grate.

    Jack Daniels briquettes

Maybe I didn't remember the price correctly. For that price it's definately worth a try.

    Jack Daniels briquettes

I've seen these. They look pretty interesting, although a little expensive if I remember correctly. About $9 for a small bag I think. I would like to try them out one of these days though. If you try them let us know what you think.

    Memorial weekend cooking

Doing four butts for a birthday party on Monday morning. Then if I'm lucky I'll be hitting the rib cookoff in Cleveland that afternoon/evening.

    peach wood

Peach is my favorite wood to use. Especially on ribs. The smoke is soooo sweet smelling. The only problem I have is finding a good piece that's not starting to rot. Definitely an excellent wood.

pulled pork...how much $ per lb.?

Thanks for the responses guys. I was thinking around 8-10 dollars per lb. but wasn't sure if I was in the right ballpark. That helps me out. About ready to put two on the fire as I write this. Thanks again.
