    Wifi Adapters

I've read through https://github.com/CapnBry/HeaterMeter/wiki/Wireless-Adapters. I've been using heatermeter for many years now. I've gone through various versions. The biggest problem I have is wifi connectivity. I have an outdoor AP and still don't get the best signal. My phone...

Easter HAM on: http://bnelz.dnsalias.com:12000/luci It started out ok but looking funky now. It settled fine at first then when I was messing with the alarms I set target to 140. Then it started oscillating and then it randomly jumped. Thoughts?

    HeaterMeter Hardware v4.2.4

Ralph, I know you have been using yours for Pizza cooks with the type K. What temp are you running it at these days and how does the rotodamper hold up under those conditions?

    HeaterMeter Hardware v4.2.4

Bryan, can you post pics of how you installed it in your egg? Was it ever concluded if it's better to install it on grate height or dial height?

    HeaterMeter Hardware v4.2.4

Just bought a thermocouple board. Now I need to to figure out which parts I can use from my second 4.0 that I never built and what's left to buy.

    Has anybody used these probes?

Thanks Bryan! You are awesome! I think I'll pick up 4 for my next heatermeter build.

Thank you Bryan! I now have the fan at 1% and it's looking pretty stable. Do you run yours with the fan on all of the time?

http://bnelz.dnsalias.com:12000/luci I'm running into an odd issue that I haven't quite figured out how to adjust for. I hit my target temp with fan running only when 100% (max fan set to 5% right now). When my valve is 99% open I can't hit my target of 225 so the fan inevitably kicks on the...

    The Development Log

I too would love to put a thermocouple in my smoker (an egg) for high heat pizza cooks. I would prefer to get my Egg up tot he 800-850 range which I've been able to do with it wide open without the fan before. I use my heatermeter to temp meat indoors too and would like to be able to use the...

    PID Tuning help

What are the defaults in 9? What are you running with your rotodampner?

The rotodamper works great and I have that tuned fantastically. I'm tweaking the PID's as we speak. I also set fan to 100% on only, that helped a bit. I messed with them last time I cooked at this is what made the graph stable. It was stable at 250 before I put the food on but as soon as the...

4.1 in SMD - It can be done!

This is pretty awesome. It would be cool to see if the footprint could be shrunk but this is beyond my skill.

    The Development Log

Here is an interesting tibit about micro controllers and thermocouples, I'm not sure if you would find it interesting/useful. What kind of wiring do you have to/from the thermocouple? Is it twisted pair to reduce the chance of interference? Is it shielded? I'm a noob and I'm sure you have...

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

It went ok. The fitting needed sanding/scraping so I got the knife out. The Guru measured at 35mm OD and you made the plastic at 34mm ID. It seems to hold firmly which is the best I can ask for.

    HM Fan Questions

That seems to summarize it. I can't imagine the external circuit to be too hard to implement. It could even be built into your fan assembly assuming the logic level output isn't running too far.
