Yes, I have been a very bad boy! My WSM lid got all gunky and gooey, and stuck to the cooking chamber section. So, I have repeatedly pryed the lid off with a flat head screwdriver. Well, I guess you can visualize how the lip looks. It has the pry bends all around the lip in various places. So...

Bob, nah, just some Johnsonville's that were on sale at Kroger! :D I've found that the J'ville brat are very good quality; not like a homemade sausage, or a fresh brat from the butcher, but in a pinch they cook up very nicely.

I fired up my WSM (Miss Piggy) with some Wicked Good Weekend Warrior to do some light smoking of snacks for the weekend. Miss Piggy is all set with some WGWW! Here's brat money shot! :D

So I did another smoke ring test on my WSM today. I cooked 2 cheese stuffed fattys and some cheese brats. I got better results this time, and I send shouts out to my TVWB friends for all your advice and suggestions.

Al, yes, that is how I run my WSMs all the time. But, the weather has been very warm here on my cook days, and the smoker gets up to temp pretty quickly. You may be on to something here. Thanks.

Dave, that probably explains why I always get a great smoke ring on my offset. There is always a clean burning fire. Very interesting!

Dwain, no water in the pan this time, but I have used water before. But, I have gotten a smoke ring both ways before in my WSM. Some factor has changed, and I'm compelled to find out what. Thanks for your reply. :)
