    Looking for charcoal baskets

I just received an Oklahoma Joe Half Time charcoal starter, and I'm quite impressed with it. It seems much better than other ones I have been replacing about one a year. But now I need new charcoal baskets as my weber branded ones are looking more like the Titanic vs a DeLorean. Is there a...

    Aluminum cross member replacement

Both of my cross members by the firebox are rusty. One is 90% gone and has to be replaced and the other might be able to be saved, but…. I could buy steel tubes and weld them in, but I was looking at the repair using the threaded inserts and bolts and that got me thinking of using aluminum...

Picked up a Genesis Gold C SS today

I have joined the dark side. I have my first full sized gas grill. Sigh. Lol. Got a really good deal on it. It needs a few parts ( center burner tube is just one long slot instead of holes ) and the frame by left hand mount area is rusted through. But both of those should be a pretty easy...

Pit Probe not reaching temps when calibrating

Started in ice water. All three probes read 32(ish) pit temp probe reads 54.7 Moved to boiling water. Probes are ~212, pit at ~175ish. Is there a way to calibrate the pit probe? Tweak the mV/C? Is my thermocouple jacked up? This is more than a few years old, so I don't think it is a...

Wanted suggestions for new pit probe

After using my heater meter to check / calibrate the my oven temp I have found that my pit probe was reading 40+ behind my "meat" probes. I checked all of the probes in boiling water and found that yes, my pit probe was off by over 40 degrees. I attempted to adjust it with "offset" and it...

    Linkmeter home screen edit

There once was a way to edit the home screen for the Linkmeter / heatermeter. You can change the picture of the flames, and remove the blue overlay. Anybody remember how to do that?

Can you add an external antenna to a HM to improve WIFI range

My house seems to be a black hole when it come to wifi range. The fact that is aluminum sided probably doesn't help. Also, ATT installing my router in the basement may have something to do with the signal strength as well. As you can guess, my wifi out on the deck where I smoke is sketchy at...

    Help with HM damper settings.

I have a WSM 22, and a damper on my HM now, and need some help with the settings on it. I would like it to run damper only to 50% open, then kick in the fan if needed. Would my settings be: Fan out put: pulse ON above 50% min 0 max 30 ( to limit my fan out put to 30% of max) Startup max 100...

What is the threshold setting used for?

Excellent! I have my HM sending texts to my phone! Next question, and I'm feeling really thick about this, what are the threshold setting used for? Are they just "on and off" or are they a "start monitering here" setting? In the example below; Will my low temp alarm not activate until it hits...

Heatermeter help in setting up Email and SMS

I'm trying to get my heatermeter to send my phone alerts when alarms happen. I can get it to work with pushbullet, but work frowns on "non-work" apps on the work phones. I am trying to set up the SMTP client using my gmail ( non-work ) or my @att email. Neither seem to be working. Can...

    Resetting to "factory"

I am attempting to "reset" my heatermeter back to default. I have flashed the SD card many times and it still is showing up on the network with the old settings, i.e. name, offsets, and the worst of all - the old login and password. How do I go about removing the old login and password? I do...

    Mis-labled, but still good.

The wife and I wanted pulled pork for the holiday weekend. I went to the store and grabbed my normal "Pork shoulder roast with bone." The pork took really long to cook, but I wasn't too worried as I was cooking it the day before. At about 12 hours however, I was out of time and light, so off...

Replacement probes for the Igrill 2 found!

With Weber buying the Igrill product family, it has been hard to find replacement probes for a good price. With a lot of google searching, I came across Cappec digital thermometers. They were having a sale on replacement probes, so for $10 a piece I bought 2 to try. Good news, they work...

    Dutch's Wicked Baked Beans

This is my take on "Dutch's Wicked Baked Beans." You can google the original recipe if you want. He has different peppers ( and more of them) in his. I think that many peppers take over the dish. For a LARGE crowd. 8-10 strips of bacon cut into 1/2 inch squares ½ Medium onion, diced 1 - 2...
