    Auto Temp controllers ???

Ran a 18.5" WSM for 2 or 3 years before I bought my BBQ Guru ProQ II and 10 cfm fan. Never looked back. It makes long smokes so simple. On a 18 hour 4 shoulder smoke for the office (we do this every few months), I know when to start the coals and at what time I will need to reload before...

    Pinholes in Water Pan

After about 6 years of abuse, my "el cheapo brinkman" pan finally developed a pinhole on my last cook. Did not affect the cook and I did not notice it until I went to dump the ashes a few days later. Nice wet clump of ashes on one side, and that lovely wet ash skunky smell. Oh well, I still...

    Convert NG to LP?

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Originally posted by Hank B: I have heard that Weber no longer sells the conversion kits and will require the serial number of your grill before they will ship the...

How Many Coscto Pork Butts fit on the top rack?

I do 2 & 2 in an 18.5" all the time, so the same thing in a 22" should be no problem at all. I've even done 3&3 one time. It was a little tight and I ended up standing the butts on end in my 18.5, but you should have no problems in the bigger WSM. I have done them both ways, with the water pan...

Weber Summit S-670 - warranty question

From most if not all of the post's I've seen in the various forums since I bought the Summit, I think they are more concerned with the manufacturer date which will be linked to the serial number. If this is true, my 2008 Summit has a ways to go on most of the major components. I don't plan on...

    My craigslist find - 2008 Weber s-670

The fellow I bought it from said he paid $2,300 in 2008. He is being transferred to PA soon and did not want to pay the exense of packing and shipping it. He is going to replace it with an egg when he gets settled in. He's happy, and so are we

    My craigslist find - 2008 Weber s-670

Thanks guys.... I also rescued a Q100 from craigslist a few hours after we bought the Summit. Going to clean it up so my oldest daughter can take it on camping trips this fall. Wife said not more grills though....

    My craigslist find - 2008 Weber s-670

Well, it's not a $200 find like some get, but on the other hand it's not a fixer upper either. Snagged a 2008 model with no issues for $1,000 Photo is a little off from the shadows of the deck support. This sucker looks 100% new and has been stored under a deck while covered.

Weber Summit S-670 - warranty question

I looked at the warranty page on Weber's website and did not see anything about 1st owner only, just the length of time items are covered. I've been looking to upgrade from my Holland Grill Classic to a Summit S-670 for a while and may have found a good deal on a 2008 model the original owner...

Am I setting myself up for a fire?

Depending on the lay of the land, you could use a concrete base for the floor to mitigate concerns of hot coals falling out. They make those tamp down forms you put over the concrete and tamp down to press in a shape. I've seen it done with wooden plank shapes, but I don't where to get them...

    Pulled pork for 30-35?

My logic is the 18.5" WSM will hold 4 no problem and they come cryo-vac packed in 2 per pack so...... I would do 4 instead of 3. Besides, it should not take any longer to do 4 and the amount of fuel needed should be the same. Plus it gives you some extra in case the folks want lost of...

    Cook gone wrong by $50,000

I started out with a water heater pan under the WSM years ago. I've since moved up to one of those fireproof cement like mats about 40" in diameter. It looks much better and works great as I have dropped a coal or two when pouring them into the fire ring before.

Doing my first overnight smoke, how do i refuel?

I just did two shoulders, 8 and 10 pounds, over the 4th. I get about 14 hours out of the initial load with the brinkman water pan in (I sometimes use the clay saucer also, but I seem to like the pan for shoulers). I use a power draft (Digi-Q II) so my temps are very consistent from initial...

Lump Charcoal in North Atlanta Area

Phil, S&S Ace Hardware in Buford is listed as a authorized dealer in "Wicked Good Charcoal" products. Wicked Good Charcoal makes both lump and brick style charcoal products, but I have not idea what this particular location carries. Address is: 4300 Buford Drive (Highway 20) Buford, GA 30518...

    maple wood smoke?

May be a little late for your smoke, but last week I did the TVWBB smoked meatloaf recipie on the WSM with about 1/2 a handfull of maple chips thrown in (did not have chucks). It was great and the smoke flavor was not overpowering, but was there. We will do this one again.

    Anyone ever seen this mod??

That photo must be one on a 22" WSM. Only problem is the pellet burner cost more than most WSM's do in the first place!

Important note: Clean your drip pan before doing high-temp cooks!!!!

I don't recall the exact pre-event setup, but some years back I also got to see the "afterburner" effect in my WSM. Had it on the open deck and had dumped in a chimney of coals, covered them with more coals to fill the ring, then put the middle section on, waiting for the coals to ash over. I...
