Comparison of Summit, Genesis, and Spirit grills

OK, I'll admit that if I actually had a rotisserie function, I'd probably use it very often, too. And the Summit does have a nice hideaway function for the turn motor. The smoke box seems to be very convenient, but in the Summit it occupies a few inches off the side of the grill, taking up a...

Comparison of Summit, Genesis, and Spirit grills

I visited my local OSH for their tax-free sale this past weekend (yes, even Webers were tax-free), and noticed some interesting differences among the Weber gas grills: 1. The Summit's stainless steel grates are larger than the Genesis's, but the individual rods are also much further apart from...

    Got lucky....

Enjoy! The Q series are great grills--highly efficient and very capable of both searing and having indirect heat when used properly.

Spiral Dawgs and cheap lid holder

I had that same issue of not finding a place to put my grates/pot/food/etc. besides the dirty concrete floor. I'm going to take out my circular saw and make me one of those fans! Excellent idea! I'm going to have to cook myself some hot dogs now...

    Rib Rack on Mini WSM

I have one, too, for my mini-build. This is a must-have accessory for any wsm build. In fact, I think I'm going to buy another one just to have both grates occupied at one smoke. Why not!

Breaking in my new 26.75 Weber....Roadside Chicken

Congrats on the new 26"! I'm drooling with envy over the food and the grill. I'm hoping to get a 26" for myself in the future. It presents a much better value than the Kettle Ranch, which is way over priced and doesn't even have an ash cleaner. (I don't even know how kettle ranch owners...

    Looking for a Kingsford sale

Thanks for the price check! So with the coupon sale coming up, I guess it amounts to about $0.50/lb, which is about average price for the regular Kingsford blue. I might actually brace the rainy weather and buy myself a pair of bags just to have on hand for variety's sake.

    Looking for a Kingsford sale

Does anyone have an idea how much the original Costco price is? I'm not sure I want to spend 10 minutes looking for a parking spot just to get a price check. Also, I have never tried K Comp, and I've read on forums that the K Comp just burns hotter initially, but doesn't last as long as the...

    Lazy man's Chicken Thighs

Somebody should start a photo thread of who can claim the largest 2/20 haul when the sale comes up!!!

    Looking for a Kingsford sale

I tell you, I can't wait to get stockpiles of the 2x20lb KBBs. I'm crossing my fingers it will be at half price as in years before. I recall buying a 2x20lb-er about 5+ years ago from Home Depot on one of those 4th of July sales, and my wife and I were wondering if we would ever be able to use...

    Fried chicken on a Q200

My wife liked them and so did I. Not greasy as deep oil fried chicken, but still with some crunch. This alternative lets me eat fried chicken every day without feeling guilty!

    Fried chicken on a Q200

Today, I decided to try making fried chicken on the Q200 grill for the first time. I rubbed some drumsticks with Lawry's seasoning salt, oil, and a tablespoon of mayo. Then, I mixed it in a bag of flour, pepper, garlic salt, and a handful of crushed sour cream and onion potato chips. Indirect...

Beef Short ribs and only beef short ribs...

Looks good! I'll have to try those Weber spices.

I found a water pan that fits!

George, The deep pan just sits on the bottom of my tamale pot, where there is a 3 point star cut out. It just replaces the tin pie pan I had been using before.

All-day smoke of an 8lb pork shoulder on a wsm mini build. This is what happened.

    26.5 Owners ???

I've noticed that many 26" owners on this forum love indirect cooking on it, but I'm hoping to get one for direct searing. One application I find useful for that is in making Korean galbi short ribs, which require direct high heat. When you have a large party and each guest is chomping down...

Birthday dinner with a surprise ending...

Happy Birthday, and thanks for sharing the surprise with us. I gasped and almost cried when I saw that white box with the Weber 14.5 stamp on it! You must be stoked! (I know I would be).

All-day smoke of an 8lb pork shoulder on a wsm mini build. This is what happened.

You just gave me an idea! If beer works great on smoking chicken, why not on pork! I'm going to try that next.

I found a water pan that fits!

When I tried my first all-day smoke (see http://tvwbb.com/showthread.php?49344-All-day-smoke-of-an-8lb-pork-shoulder-on-a-wsm-mini-build-This-is-what-happened), the frail pie pan I had been using as my drip pan/water pan tipped over and spilled over half my lit charcoal. This could have ruined...
