I am too late for the kettle pellet burner

Pellets: Let's see... a LOT more money for fuel, no better quality food (and maybe less:rolleyes:) and what ever it costs to convert... I have nothing against a pellet grill - I have a VERY good friend who loves his, but I am an unashamed WEBER fan. Let's see, reasonable cost, great food, last...

    OK, I’m a convert!

I tried to post this earlier but got interrupted. So, if it turns up elsewhere, that's why:o. I am a Vortex fan. Comments about "which size" for our 22" Kettles sometimes fail to take into account that we sometimes have different needs than our friends on here. I chose the Medium for my...

Thighs on the Kettle w/ Vortex

Tim; One of my absolute favorite things is chicken parts on one of my Performers with the Vortex. I typically make extras to use with other dishes in the following days (my Better Half is terrific with leftovers)! You will NOT regret the Vortex purchase. Keep on smokin', Dale53:wsm:

    tube pellet smoker?

I have the small tube (6") from Amazen. I use it to cold smoke cheese. It works perfectly! Keep on smokin', Dale53:wsm:

    Grilling/smoking with Mayo

I regularly grill cedar planked salmon, steelhead, and other fish. I have, for some time, used a coat of mayo, then a coat of rub. It definitely increases the moisture in the finished product. It also holds the rub well. Keep on smokin', Dale53

    Cheap Eats

ChuckO; That looks to be a perfect cook! Good work, for sure! Keep on smokin', Dale53

    Trouble with smoke gateway

I have talked to the people at Thermoworks on more than one occasion and they are about as good as it gets! Good people that really WANT to do the right thing. I have recommended their products to a bunch of people. I have a number of their products and smile everytime I use them. Keep on...

    Using Thermoworks Smoke on WSM

I have a couple of Smokes. I cut slots for both my 14.5" and 18.5" WSM's. I MUCH prefer the slot to the grommet. Keep on smokin', Dale53:wsm:

    Another gimmick

Well, I am NOT slamming the idea. However, unless or until they can be competitive with Holiday priced Kingsford, you are not apt to see any in my bins! Call me frugal, call me cheap, or whatever, but Kingsford gives me excellent results and that is what I go for - EXCELLENT RESULTS! Bling is...

Some Quick Cooks Just Had to do it

Rich and Barb; That looks fantastic! We have been having CRAZY weather, too! I have been hitting my “indoor Weber” (6 qt. Instant Pot Ultra:o)... keep on smokin’, Dale53:wsm:

Replacement Lid, Middle Cooking Section, Firebowl?

The only modifications that I have done to my WSM's is to cut a slot for the remote thermometer. I am a REAL believer in a remote therm (first I had a Maverick but now I have a couple of Smokes). Otherwise, I run 'em as they came! Keep on smokin', Dale53:wsm:

    Selling My RANCH

Jim; I have not seen one of those in person. Your pictures should be quite helpful to a potential owner. That is a HUGE grill, my man! Good luck on the sale. That represents MORE than an excellent value! Keep on smokin’, Dale53:wsm:

    Mayonnaise crust!?

I and my extended family flat out LOVE my Salmon Planked on a grill. In the last year or so, after reading a scientific reccommendation, I use a light coat of mayonaise on both sides of the filet, then use GFS's Salmon Rub (their own brand, "Trade East Salmon Rub"). In the past, I used a light...

Bob; Happy Birthday! That’s a fine lookin’ meal with excellent photos! Keep on smokin’, Dale53:wsm:

    Cook's Country Grill-Fried Chicken Wings

For the record, my Vortex in the Performer, gets my chicken parts (wings, drumsticks, and thighs) done in a total of thirty minutes. I flip them at 20 minutes, then ten minutes more. Now, why the disparity in time between the Cook's and ours with a Vortex? They are taking the temperature from...

Wings and Poppers with the Vortex

To all: One thing that I might mention, using my Performer with the "Medium Vortex", all vents open and a full chimney of Kingsford Original (gas ignition using the Vortex as a chimney), I have experienced something that I have no explanation for: I often grill large bone in thighs along with...

    Kettle temps ?

You might want to take a look at this old post of mine - 437 degrees indirect at grate (see post #7 as well as the opener): https://tvwbb.com/showthread.php?70369-Wings-and-Poppers-with-the-Vortex&highlight=wings+Vortex Keep on smokin', Dale53:wsm:

    14" WSM for $108

Mark; That's a really good deal! I have used my 14.5" (purchased when they hit the market - this last time) a good bit. It is a really good smoker (like the other two WSM's). Get yourself a couple of rib racks that fit, cut the "rack of ribs" in half and they will be perfectly smoked end to end...
