HELP!! How do I Remove A Stuck Lid

^^ This^^ You might try the vinegar thing too, just for extra insurance.

Best deal around. I wish I could meet a "barter buddy".

    Where do you get wood

Yes and no. I am fairly content with my current source, but being a greedy jerk, I'm always looking for something better

Where do you buy your wood?

I have a local firewood supplier that separates their wood by species. Their stock rotates based on whatever they happen to cut down or remove. Living in NoVA, they always have oak, maple, and (bradford) pear. They usually have hickory and cherry too. Anyway, I have a firepit in my backyard and...

    Where do you get wood

Thanks. I didn't think to look under "Kitchen Gadgets" for a wood discussion. But I'm new here. I'm learning.

    Where do you get wood

I figured this has been discussed before, but my search came up empty. In any case, as the title implies, I'm curious to see where you guys get wood for your smokes. I have a local firewood supplier that separates their wood by species. Their stock rotates based on whatever they happen to cut...

    Done cooking, now what?

A fine suggestion that I'll have to follow. Although, I admittedly favor Bourbon.

    Why only black?

My assumptions: 1-Weber sells a gagillion grills every year.....but far fewer smokers in comparison. The economies of scale make it less practical to offer the WSM in various colors since they don't sell THAT many of them. 2- Color selection can cause supply headaches when people start asking...

Shhh... Don't Tell My Wife! I Need a Little Extra Something. A New BBQ Of course!

Between the smoker and the gasser, how often do you honestly think you'll use a kettle grill? For occasional use, you might just consider the one-touch or some other small, inexpensive option. Of course, if you think you'll use it a lot, a performer might make sense.

Natural gas grill & screened porch

I have a natural gas range in my interior kitchen.....never had a problem ;) That said, I wouldn't sweat the grill in and enclosed patio. But as the poster above mentioned, you'll need to take the grease plume into account.

    first pork shoulder

    I don't wrap mine. I shoot for 190-195.

Ever replaced a gas crossover tube?

Tom- Weber is sending me the tube for free. If I were spending MY money (or yours), I'd definitely take your advice. ;)

    Alcohol gel starters

I was reading the article on the main page titled "starting a charcoal chimney". It outlined several products/methods you can use to start the chimney, but "alcohol-based liquid gel" caught my eye. Any reason hand sanitizer wouldn't work for this? Most contains 70%+ ethyl alcohol and is very...

    What causes rubbery chicken skins?

Thats what I was thinking. Some sort of oil would likely crisp up the skin. Maybe even butter.

    Craig's List?

$50 for that Genesis is definitely a "laughably low price". I bet the broken "clicker" just needs a new battery and/or the battery compartment cleaned up. That was the case with the Genesis I just bought last week for $65 (same model).

    Sand Or Water ???

Doesn't the water also help in keeping the meat moist? That said, doesn't using clay pots/sand/rocks negate that benefit?

    Gasket mod

I bought an 18.5 earlier this year. Smoke leaked (relatively) profusely from the access panel the first few times I used it. But soot and grime eventually built-up in the tiny gaps to the point that it barely leaks at all now. A fair amount of smoke still leaks out from between the lid and main...

    Craig's List?

As a general rule, I almost never offer the seller's asking price unless: 1- The asking price is already laughably low 2- Its a hard to find item on the used market (while still being priced reasonably) In my mind a used product is typically worth about half of its new price (in excellent/good...

    used 18.5

Late to the party, but I've "straightened" some damaged 55 gallon drums using a ratchet strap before when the lids wouldn't seat correctly. Should apply pretty well to the WSM too. Gotta use care a go slow.
