    Used performer ignitor

I just bought another amazing condition performer to purge for parts...I will basically disassemble the whole thing and replace as I need...a solid option for $75...

Results of my first WSM cook, lots of questions and pics

One comment - perhaps you can remove the membrane from your ribs, and cook them with the bone side down.

About the Cajun bandit door (wsm 22.5")?

I have the CB door and love the look. If you are concerned of it falling down, attach some chains, bungee chords, etc. around your handles and limit the vertical motion. Clip them on or off as you see fit. I liked the locking feature of the original door, but when it came to it, the CB door is...

    Vent damper mod ideas?

I realize my response is not the mod you are looking for, but - can't you just tap the bottom vents with your toes (covered in shoes, sandles, etc)? I didn't realize the bottom vents were a problem...as I am always just tapping them with my toes.

    charcoal ring

Zinc and steel (iron). Zinc is the sacrificial layer against corrosion. No lead in this alloy. Can't loop them all in the same boat.

    Cleaning your Mini WSM

I was just thinking the same question - I made bacon in my mini and the fat dripped to the bottom...I also have the drill holes... I ended up making a very hot fire and burning all the residue. In the summer I will spray it with water, but for now a few hot fires and banging the bottom when...

    When to wrap a butt

You wrap, ideally, to break the stall...the stall occurs when the temp of the meat is stable due to the cooling effect of the moisture leaving the meat (sweating)...you speed this up by wrapping (think sauna)... In competition, wrapping is a must...cook to temp and then feel...never to a clock!

BBQ IQ110 - Worth It or Not

I like my IQ110. I also clip the probe to my et733, so they are both reading temp at the same spot. They are within tolerance to each other. Got my WSM as high as 350 with water pan in place and a smooth 225 for brisket overnight... I like it and think it's the easiest one out there...

To Mop or not to Mop?

You can infuse your spritz liquid and filter out the particulate matter...just requires a bit of planning...

    Tips on improving my brisket

The flat is leaner...did you want to inject it with something next time? I have learned that you want to set the bark before you wrap..,although I want to try butcher paper the next time I can get any! Some of my best briskets were not wrapped be took forever to cook. The bark was beautiful...

To Mop or not to Mop?

I never mop, but I may spritz depending on what's going on, where the internal temperatures are and if I need to crutch or not... Basically it's meat and cooker dependent...and it's also up to you...

    Used performer ignitor

So I cleaned the gas "tube" and can now see a spark. I thought that was the problem, but it wasn't...there is still no flame occurring when I press the ignotor button, and the gas is on. I bought a BBQ lighter for now as it's no fun working in the winter snow... Is it worth calling weber for...

    Used performer ignitor

I looked for a spark, but nothing came out. Also when I supplied the gas, and hit the red button nothing happened. I asummed if there was any spark, it would have caused some combustion. I will try cleaning the tip - where should I look for it? My plan b was to call weber and ask for a...

    Used performer ignitor

Hi all! I bought a never used , used performer. I cleaned it up and am happy with it - the exception is the ignitor. The ignitor won't fire. The gas hisses, but no ignition when I hit he red button. Any ideas? It was left in the elements without a cover - Does it just need to dry? Please help!

    Nasty WSM Worth Saving?

After you wash, I would also suggest a big fire in your cooker...just to re-season...and to get away from the wife....and bourbon....mainly the bourbon....

    Selling my WSM 22.5"

It's a fair enough price for what you have there....if I was closer, I would buy it....Ottawa to Maine is a helluva drive...

    Party Q, anyone using it??

I had no clue that the party Q didn't have an external power source. I chose the IQ110, and am using a battery pack, but have the regular AC adapter in case... The party Q was my second option....

    IQ 110 and WSM hineg

I have a garage that I cook in - doors open. This cuts down on the wind. There was only one day last winter where it was really cold, and I made a custom insulation jacket . I cut out spots for the access door, handles, etc. I even used Velcro tape to wrap it snug. Worked real nice. Otherwise...

    IQ 110 and WSM hineg

how you like the 120? I was toying with getting that one, but I already have a maverick ET-733 and did think I needed the extra probe. The 110 is nice, but the display on the 120 is nicer!
