    Q300 GrillGrates on a Q200

Original grates on my Q300 and Q320 have gone through so many cooks that in spite of seasoning, they are now flaking badly. New grates from Amazon run about $80 or so and I found the Q300 series Grillgrates on sale for about the same price and decided to take the plunge. When I received them...

    to many projects !

A few years ago I started a thread on a Q rotisserie that at the time, was only available in Europe. I’m sure the pictures have gone, but the discussion was lengthy about this subject—-

    Q Rescue project - grates?

I just finished one(a 200) with grates like that. Took a ball peen hammer and used the peen end to lightly chip off the loose rust, did it to both sides. When I got it somewhat looking “better”, I then seasoned the grate on both sides a few times. Also before seasoning, I scrapped about 4” of...

    How old is your WSM?

Bought mine in 2002, original grates and rusty bolts. Mods include a notch for the thermometer and a Cajun Bandit door and latch. Occasionally a 22” kettle lid on top when its raining here—

    Not exactly a modification

I’ve got an old kettle lid and I use it exactly like that, works great except if it’s windy.....

Been looking for one of these

Grate!!! find, new grate I believe is $85 from Amazon. Even at $135, that is a good buy compared to the Seattle area Craigslist prices and you start with a grate that you can take care of your way. They can be made somewhat “portable” by undoing the four screws holding it to the stand, but not...

    Scored a 22" & an 18"

Pat, use that 18’’ at least once. I’ve had mine for many years and it gets the second most use, my 14” gets the most use for just the 2 of us, and the 22” gets the least use as it cooks a lot but guzzles charcoal. The 18” seems just ridht for a smsller crowd—

    Beef Chuck Cross Rib Roast

Wait!! That looks so good!! What did you think of it?? If pictures are any evidence of how good it tasted,it must have been great. Your basting recipe and the rotisserie cook must have added a ton of flavor. Great cook!!

    Q 3200 interest

Get that grill!!! As said, the worst you can do is try it a couple of times and if you don’t like the way it cooks, you can still flip it and make a couple of bucks. That’s a pretty good price!!

    Indirect grate here

Phil Perrin from Australia years ago posted a how to on using the Q’s indirect. I believe he gave Weber demonstrations there about using Q’s. He, and the “Fire Escape Griller” on YouTube use the indirect method frequently with great results that I have incorporated into my Q use.

What a deal on spareribs !

I took Bob’s advice and cured several “trimmings”, worked great for beans and pea soup.
