I recommend going to Klaus' meat market and picking up a variety of authentic German sausages. Try some fresh and some smoked. Easy to cook and will definitely please the crowd.
What KevinG said, plus Easy-Off oven cleaner also works very well for the bowl and lid.

Heck yes. I'd buy it. Look for rust through in the frame and/or the kettle. If it's solid, it's a good deal. Gas system doesn't work, but you should be able to fix it or just not use it.
That looks like a great find. Never hurts to check with Weber to see if it's registered. Some parts should still be under warranty if needed in the future. You might be able to get a replacement bowl.
Is that kettle gray?
I'm surprised they burned at those temps. Were the ribs close to the edge of the grate? You might have gotten some direct heat on them, or hotter temps closer to the edge.
