    Cheeseburger Night

There's nothing like a nice, simple burger. Those look perfect. How'd the fries turn out? I've never done them on the grill and they look terrific.

HOT FAST QUICK Brisket, on my first attempt? I must be mad!

Are you sure you're new to this? Looks like you have a winner ready to go. I'm a little curious as to how hot the birds eyes will be. As a dried chili, they make cayenne look pretty tame.

Newbies MAD BeefShorties Weekend Roller-coaster #ATGNI

Nicely done, especially for a first cook. Now that you're officially hooked, you will really get to know your butcher, which is a very good thing.

Can I save these cooking grates?

You could probably resurrect them for at least the rest of the season, buy why not treat yourself to a nice, new, shiny set?

Things You'd Like Weber To Make.

I like Tony's idea of either a slide aside or possibly a hinge for the WSM.

    Cast Iron vs. Grill Grates

Thanks for the write-up and test. I have no trouble getting great grill marks with either cast iron (Silver B) or stainless grates (S330). I don't understand the appeal of grillgrates, but if they work for you, cook on!

    Porcelain coated cast iron griddle

I have one and it's on my grill at all times. I have no trouble with food sticking. Make sure you preheat it with the lid down for a good 15 minutes or so. If it's cool, that may be why food is sticking. It's great for breakfast foods, veggies, burgers, sausage and peppers, quesadillas...

"Porcelain coated" or "porcelain treated" cast iron grates?

I have Weber grills with both types of grates. They both have held up really well. I would not be afraid to recommend the Weber cast iron grates. My 12 year old Genesis still has the original CI and they look like new. They are porcelain enamel coated and hold up really well, just like the...

    New Weber E-470 NG

Congratulations on the new grill Robb. I have an E470 and love it. I also chose that model because it has everything as well, plus it can cook a LOT of food. If you have trouble with your food falling through the grates, you might want to try a grill pan. They work great and keep the little...

    My First Competition

Well done on the 5th place ribs and kudos for dusting yourself off and getting back on the horse. The first one is always the toughest. Now that you know what to expect, you can tweak recipes, timelines, presentation, etc. As others have noted, cooking for judges is a lot different than cooking...
