First off, WELCOME! Second, you mentioned adding water...was it hot or cold? If you use water it should be HOT. If you add cold water it absorbs heat until it gets hot, keeping the temps low.
Is that part of the rough-in valve? I just re-did two bathrooms this summer and the rough-in valves only cost me $50. (each) from FAUCET.COM. I recommend you check their site.
Welcome! Congrats on the new WSM.
I never jump into a new hobby without extensive research. For the small footprint and ease of use the only choice was the WSM.
That should work, but the blanket rests right on the smoker like a cocoon. I have an 8X8 folded in half. I hang it from hooks under my deck and ropes tied through the grommets.
I know I'm a Johnny-Come-Lately to this debate, but in this situation I would have referred back to my notes from previous cooks to find their cooking temps and time I foiled (if applicable) to try to come up with a workable solution. It would take some of the guesswork out of the equation. :)
Happy New Year! The sun is shining through the windows and heating up the place, but it's also -17 F on the other side of those windows. Depending which weather service you use, the windchill is supposed to be around -25 to -40F.
I put mine on the smoker...and REGRET not putting it on the door.
The top of the arch (gasket) protrudes out from the door. IMO, it looks sloppy, not clean looking, not professional.
