    Few WSC questions

I suspect you have your gas ignition on for two long. When I want to cook low and slow, I find it best to turn the gas ignition off after 5 minuets of running, any longer and I get run away temps.

Picnic with my wife and the Smokey Joe Premium

Yesterday my wife and I took advantage of the 70f weather here in Delaware and had a nice picnic. I had just purchased a SJP for such an occasion and fired it up for the first time. Put an avocado on the grill to bake. I followed the Weber recipe from a couple of weeks ago, sans onions...

How I made my SJG hot

I was deciding between a SJS and the SJP. I liked the SJP due to the portability but was going to go with the SJS due to the temp problem. This thread convinced me to go with the SJP, and I will be putting it to the test this weekend.

How low can you maintain on WSC?

That's pretty cool. I haven't cooked with temperatures that low on mine. It's good to know it can be done.

Attitude on Weber Summit Charcoal Grill pricing

I considered the Primo Oval XL, but went with the WSCG. My reasons for doing so were as follows: superior thermal insulation, inferior heat retention (allowing you to adjust temps easier), two settings for the charcoal grate, superior ash management system, lower weight and superior mobility...

    Summit Charcoal - next version?

I don't think removing the gass assist will move the needle on production cost, so I wouldn't expect that change to precipitate a lower MSRP. My take on it is it's a high end Kamado type cooker, which the kettle is not. All the criticisms of it being to high priced come from comparing it to...

Weber Summit Charcoal Grill / Grilling Center Owners Thread

Yeah, get everything you can, you are spending a lot. Start by asking for the charcoal rake and the expansion grate. Thoese are the two most used accessories that I have. In full disclosure I was only "given" the rake, but then again I didn't ask for the grate to be comped too. Learn from my...

Mince Pies on the Summit Charcoal Grill

I love that versatility of the WSCG, so easy to BBQ or bake. It's a true outdoor oven, in the tradition of othe kamados.

    Thanksgiving Turkey on the Kettle!

Great use of the Weber, more proof that great food can be produced from a simple old kettle. Gig'em Aggies.

    Thanksgiving Turkey on WSCG

Thanks! The WSCG is a different beast, it cooks like a kamado (or at least as I understand how other Kamado's cook). There is a different flavor profile of the food cooked on the WSCG as compared to a WSM or a kettle. It's not better or worse, just different. The other Weber products tend to...

Weber Summit Charcoal Grill / Grilling Center Owners Thread

Off flavors using KBB. Does anyone else notice more off flavors in the WSCG when using KBB? I never had that problem with my Weber kettle or WSM, and I think it's because of the hotter fire and more airflow in thoes two devices relative to the WSCG.
