    Rotisserie on performer

Ok, here's the Performer in action with the Weber Rotisserie. Tonight I decided to give a first attempt with a 4 bone in pork loin. Here's a prep photo with the loin lathered in a olive oil, garlic, and rosemary rub. After an hour or so in room temp, I skewered it and counterbalanced the...

    Rotisserie on performer

Herb and others, I will be testing the Weber Rotisserie on Sunday with either a bone in pork loin or a large chicken (photos certainly to follow for the results). I wanted to try the Weber Rotisserie before I buy and just so happens a friend of mine has one on his OTG, so I borrowed it for a...

How To Get The Best Smoke Flavor...

For a nice well balanced long lasting smoke flavor I use when not using my WSM is I take a chunk of wood, wrap tin foil around it but leave a small opening for air and place it near the ashen coals. I used this technique when using my performer and wanting to add a bit of flavor for my indirect...

    Kettle wish list.....

Mine would be a classic red head 26 on a proportionally sized performer platform.

    Rotisserie on performer

Herb- I received the response below from Weber concerning the compatibility of the Weber Kettle Rotisserie on the Performer.   "The Rotisserie for the Kettle grills is not compatible with the Performer or Platinum grills. When the ring is put on the grill bowl, the lid roller attachment...

    Weird Temp Readings...

I would imagine with the internal capacity of a 22.5 WSM there would be some variance between the grate probe and the weber temp guage which is located near the top, but 20~30 would seem a bit much.

    New Performer Owner

Tim, If you are doing a full chicken I would recommend the beer can method (just as the others have said) with two baskets side to side for indirect and a drip can between them. Go with a medium size chicken so you won't have any issue with the lid not fitting over the chicken. Once you try...

    18.5" "M" Redhead!

Shawn, That red head is striking. I have a red head too about 28 years old which I purchased right when I graduated out of college and had a first good paycheck. I'll never get rid of her. She does need a face lift and I'll use some of your restoring techniques. I'll have to post before and...

    New Performer Owner

Tim, welcome to the club. I'm quite surprised that Home Depot would jack the prices up based on the colors unless the Black model you purchased was an earlier model. I agree with everyone else regarding the use of the baskets, but if you don't have a chimney yet you'll have to use them to...

Performer compatibility with the Weber Kettle Rotisserie

Thanks to all of you for your sound advice. Think I'll use the strategy of "try before you buy." Will head to the local Ace Hardware store and place the ring on one of their performers to see how it sits on the rim. Plus a little space can't hurt when not trying to maintain temps like I would...

    Performer in a 26.75

I'm wondering with the great popularity of the performer that weber would consider making a 26.75 performer. They already make these large kettles anyways so I'm wondering if they would consider producing a larger performer line. Anyone here work for weber?

What is the best rated internal temp gauges

Getting a bit frustrated and want to purchase a good reliable internal temperature gauge (money is no issue). In my kitchen are: (1) Nu-temp: had it for several years and seems to be the best working. I especially like the remote sensor. Went to their web page and they have been out of stock...
