Yes, please do not paint the inside of the cookbox and just be on the lookout for a redhead donor (not sure how common they are in The Great White North). Blue is nice too but that is becoming rarer. I wouldn't worry about the scratches on the lid as you have a very nice candidate for a restore...

Yah, I understand why Dave's not making them anymore due to the current supply/demand ($$$) conditions and that's just too bad. However, the ones from BBQparts.com are still an excellent choice and from an American company that's been in business for over 50 years.

Blue lids are hard to find but are out there. That one in particular came off of a Weber 5000 so that'll be much harder to find than the darker blue lid from the Silvers.

Good choice on the bbqparts.com grate. I believe they will serve you well. If I didn't get the ones from Dave S. then that would have been my next choice.

Are these the grates that you currently have (see close up pic, fifth image)? https://amzn.to/3r1sVq8 The rods are hollow as opposed to solid ones on other grates. They are still good though and lighter so easier to take off of the grill. But yah, if you can then get a good set of cooking...

Yah, as long as it's from a Silver or Gold C (2002-2004 I believe, in 2005 Weber used the closed cabinet with the cheap metal solid bottom that rusts) then you should be good. The ones from the B are too short. I have one on my 05 Platinum C and it fits like a glove.

Those grates that you have looks like they are the channel grates. They are stainless and hollow. If they are still in one piece (welds are still good) then they should still be good. Also, I see a propane tank on the left side...is that an extra one and is there one on the right side that's...
