    cast iron season(ing)

Boring day home alone today, I figured I'd spend a little time working on some seasoning. I do it by the oven load! :-)

    Bacon made easy

Thanks for the guide, Bob, mine came out great! While not as good at smoking as my WSM, the gasser did the trick- I'm really enjoying switching over to cast iron cooking-

    Genesis or Summit?

My $00.01 for what it's worth... My Genesis EP-330 is one year old this month. I love the grill but I want more... As soon as I get the go-ahead to move the 330 up the street to a family member, I'm jumping up to the Summit E-470. I'm thinking the extra gadgets and controls will help feed my need ;)

    ice ice baby

Everything is covered in ice this morning. Everything. Headed out to work but turned around after seeing many vehicles in the ditches, and many many more idiots racing past me. The Weber is looking chilly so it might be a good day to try out the Dutch oven Santa brought me. :D

    Favorite/Best Food Processor?

Sounds like the same one we have. I'm leery of the clunky safety interlock thingy poking down from the main cover. I think it might break if I man-handle it while washing it. Nice machine overall otherwise.

    Cast iron pan question...

While my pan is still super hot I dump a little clean hot water in there. It pops and hisses. I'll use a plastic spatula to scrape any crusties off. After I eat and the pan cools another quick scrape with the spatula, dump the water, and wipe it down with paper towels. I'll then turn the heat on...

Sorry Jim, I'm not originally from Wisconsin so I can't say I have any sympathy for That Football Team everyone around here raves over, but man that food looks yummy! Brats are good no matter where you come from. ~Mike~ waving my hand from the potato fields

Post a pic of your Pet (Dog) *****

I looked at all these pet pics and all I can say is, "Awwwwww" :) Yea, I'm a big softie when it comes to pets. Here is Axel. Golden Retriever, a Y2K puppy, 12 years going on 13. Best companion I could ever ask for- been through a lot with me. He could never hunt, he's afraid of his own shadow...
