Actually I have heard that some of the flaking will/can fall off on your food while cooking.
Wiping the inside with some paper towels would have been fine but I tend to go overboard when I start a project...

I even tried putting an extra grate on the bottom so the tamale pot doesn't seat.. It leaves about a 1/4 gap all the way around. Still no luck.
The other problem could be the clay pot is mounted too low and is smothering the charcoal...

My mini bullet is a SJG and no matter whether I start with 11 lit or half a chimney, it won't hardly get over 250. It just gets there faster with half a chimney.. That is with the top 100 percent open and both side vents 100 percent open.. Once I got it up to 275.

The first time I switched mine over, I had to reboot the wifi router and the cyberQ.
Try that and then go to the router page to find what address it assigned to the cyberQ. Type that in and you should be good.
I have had one for about two weeks and plan on using it with my 22.5 WSM. I have not been home enough to give it a trial run yet. I have been able to run it in infrastructure mode on my home network and test the probes for accuracy.
I think I'm going to love it!
Mine works fine without the port forwarding. I think that is a big misunderstanding and that port forwarding is only required if you want to access it from outside your home network. Like from work or the grocery store.
Did you ever have any more problems with it?
Not smartalec but I agree on infrastructure mode. It was easy and doesnt require all that port forwarding stuff, If you don't want to see it outside your home network.
