    kettle rotisserie

I purchased one from Amazon a few weeks ago. I found that it works better on my newer One-touch than it does on my old Mastertouch. The lid on the mastertouch will just slide around and not fit, but the lid on the newer one-touch will fit tightly with no movement. Also the rotisserie ring...

    cast iron grates

I have had the cast iron grates for several months now. They do require some extra maintenance on your part. You need to remove them to put in charcoal, plus make sure you keep them covered after you are done. I have forgotten to close the lid after taking my food off, the dew has settled on...

    Will burning paper ruin kettle?

I had a bunch of cardboard floating around in the garage and decided to burn it in my WSM. I won't do that again. I didn't take the door off and it melted a fist sized hole right straight thru it. I have since ordered a replacement door from the folks at CB.

Finding a full packer brisket in Vermont?

I can usually get what I need at BJ's in West Leb NH. Call a week ahead and tell them what you want and they will get it for you.

    Motorcycle Rally

Thanks Don, When I volunteered, I really didn't think that the group would grow so large. Nor did I realize that the campground did not have facilities that I could use, such as hot water for cleaning etc. So, I have to cook everything at home and truck it in. That is going to be one...

    Motorcycle Rally

I have volunteered to cook for an oncoming bike rally. I will have about 80 people and will be serving pulled pork and they will get a sample (1/4 rack) of ribs. How many butts would you recommend that I purchase? I have 2 WSMs and will be cooking the ribs on 3 22" and 1 26" OTGs. I will...

    Baby Back Ribs Membrane

The other thing that I noticed, was that Costco is also removing the bone from all their butts. At least I haven't been able to get one that wasn't boneless. I like the bone in so that I don't have to tie it up.

I'll pass on a recipe if it calls for (blank)!! *****

Tripe Fried sheep brains and eggs Sour curdled milk on lettuce My grandfather would eat anything and nothing was wasted at butchering time. I was raised where I had to eat whatever was put in front of me. Used to sit at that table for quite a while sometimes... Some of that stuff went down hard...

Mr. Brown Recipe - How peppery is it? Any alternative ways 2 limit the pepper?

Dave, That same scene came to mind when I read that. Then they killed the young man that could prove his innocence..

    Poll: Propane Cost

I just paid $25 to fill a 30 lb tank for my camper. That was at the local campground.

    Wooden Handles for 26" One-Touch

Thanks for looking, Gary. The plastic handles are definitely not an improvement over the old wooden ones. Teak is expensive, I can see why they discontinued them.

    Wooden Handles for 26" One-Touch

I just purchased a 26" and I hate that plastic handle. It gets too hot to touch. The wooden handles on my old MasterTouch are much better. I have never needed to search for a pot holder since buying it in 1993. Which leads me to my question. Does anyone know where I can buy wooden handles...

Whew... Put the butts on Friday night at 9 and pulled them off Saturday at noon. Then on went the pastrami which I took off at 9:30 Saturday night. Started with the bacon at 9 Sunday morning and finished slicing it at 4:30 that afternoon. Then we went out delivering Christmas presents.. Got...

Michael Ruhlman's Maple Cured Bacon from "Charcuterie"

The ribs were not on the sides. But I did get both sides of the pig. It was in two packages, each side had been folded in half. When I opened them, they looked great. I cut each side into 3 pieces so I am curing 6 pieces altogether. It was 32 pounds instead of the 40 that I had mentioned...
