Hi All, Just got an ealry Xmas gift from my father. I told him I was looking at cast iron skillets (posted in another thread), and he bought me a dutch oven. I'm excited to try it out next weekend and was hoping to get some suggestions for my first cook. Any thoughts??? Thanks All!

    Cast iron skillet recommendations

Thanks guys, I am glad you mentioned the fact that newer Gris and Wags can be miserable Doug. I have seen many on Craigslist that sounded like good deals, but will avoid. I will probably go through this site and buy a couple Lodge's from Amazon. Happy Holidays, Ryan

Can I roll my fatty the night before?

Here ya go Gary, I thought they turned out great! Very tasty, our friends raved. We served them up with a carmel apple french toast dish and fruit (and bloody mary's obviously). It was a perfect sweet and salty combo;) I am trying to post a couple pics, but it's not allowing me to browse my...

Can I roll my fatty the night before?

Got it rolled, thanks Bob! The sausage was a tad bit bigger than the bacon weave, but I just pushed the bacon into the sausage so it should hold. I also did a straight sausage just to be on the safe side :0)

Can I roll my fatty the night before?

I posted on this earlier in the week and got great advice from many people, specifically Gary, so thanks all. I am curious if I can roll it, rub it, and set in the refrigerator over night and throw her on in the morning. Any pros or cons to this? Thanks! Ryan

Gonna fire up my first fattie! Need some tips.....

Sounds good Gary, thanks for the detailed info., that certainly helps. I'll do it up the way you suggested on the grill with indirect heat. I'll just throw some biscuits and eggs on the side! About how long does it take you to get to 165 at those temps?

Oh man, just watched the Pit Boys video, they are awesome! Thanks for the suggestion. So, bacon wrapped sausage, 2lbs. with some veggies and cheese, at 225-250 for 60-90 minutes? Can I throw some eggs in there?

Gonna fire up my first fattie! Need some tips.....

Thanks all, yeah Jeff, I saw the ziplock trick, thanks for pointing it out though. It sounds like bacon is the way to go huh? I had just read a couple posts stating that the bacon doesn't cook enough, and my wife likes her bacon cooked. I am wanting her to love the wsm, so am aiming at pleasing...

Difference between smoking on the 18.5 and 22.5

Hi All, Just curious, is there any difference smoking on a 22.5 compared to an 18.5? Obviously the space to cook and the ability to cook a larger amount of food on the 22.5, but what about raising, lowering, and maintainging the temp? On my 18.5 it holds great, and can be adjusted pretty...
