    Chimney & Paper Towel w/ Veg Oil

    I tried the paper towel trick this weekend. Used the oiled towels to lube up the racks first. Coals lit well and left virtually no ash compared to paper. Also, the cleanup from the lubed racks was much easier. I'll be using this method from now on.

    Clay, When you put the butts in the foil pan do you set them directly on the pan or support them with something? Have you been satified with the bark using this method? I want to do a similar cook in open pans all day and then finish them with foil in time for dinner that night. Think it...

    Has anyone tried the 5 hour pork butt on kickassbbq.com?

    If the results are as good as a long cook why not? I think the pan idea sounds great for cleanup but I wonder how much bark I'd loose by using one. Even if the taste is pretty close it would allow you to have 'Q' when you wouldn't otherwise have the time.

    Sean, Thanks for asking the question. I'm getting ready to do three butts and then reheat them for a party on Saturday as well.
