2011 Sneak Peek - In Case You're Interested...

Saw the thread title and hoped to see a 26.5 Performer available this year. Oh well...wife would kill me if I bought another grill.

    Performer Mod

Wow Brian. Your mods look great! I was thinking the same thing as you about the dual Performer link above. But your mods look slick and OEM.

    Sweet Baby Rays Dipping Sauces

I am big fan of the SBR sauces but have not seen these Dipping Sauces. Now I know to look for them. Thanks

Kingsford Comp Briqs at Costco **Updated**

Found it at the Costco here in Plano Texas. Haven't ried it yet though.

    Performer Igniter Failure

Agreed. The Performer just makes it so easy. Plus, I have a 3.5 year old and not having to worry about where I place a hot chimney after usage is one less thing to worry about.

    Photos: 18" & 22" WSM + 27" Kettle

The 18 1/2 WSM looks so tiny compared to the others!

    new 26.5 kettle

Wow, put me in the camp that thinks the pricing is high. My memory is that the 22 OTG is $150 and the 18 OTG is $130. Even if the 26.5 sells for 100 less than MSRP that still puts it out the door at $300. The second kettle option sounds awfully good.

Visit to Weber Corporate Offices re: 18" & 22" WSMs

Redundant praise but I gotta do it... Great report Chris. Makes me more of fan of Weber's products knowing they seek expert user input.

1965 Red Weber Kettle "Ranger"...you gotta see this!

Sell it on ebay if you want to make as much money as possible on the gift from your friend.

    Anyone not use Minion Method?

I frequently add more charcoal mid cook but usually only 20-30 briquettes. I haven't noticed a big spike either.

    Lump Coal?

I tried some Lump about two years ago that I bought from Whole Foods. It burnt hot and had the flying ash syndrome. I assumed all lump was that way and never tried again. Glad I read the threads here that brands make a difference. Will look for Royal Oak at Walmart.

    Recommendation for a #2 grill

Just let me throw another limited recommendation for the Q to the OP. I have a Performer and a WSM and was looking for a small gas grill to handle quick, during the week things like you describe. I also did not want something else taking up space since my 3 yo does a great job accumulating...

    New Performer Lid Problems....

Long time reader of TVWB, first time poster.... I got my Performer about 18 months ago to replace my OTG. I immediately noticed that the lid slid around and was not airtight. Tried my old OTG lid and it fit the Performer perfectly. I called Weber customer service and they sent out another...
