Preferred network set-up for a Stoker

About a year ago I tried going wireless with my Stoker and it was nothing but a nightmare. This week I decided to give it another go with a different adapter, and within 5 minutes I was golden! Take a look at the Asus WL-330gE: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...Item=N82E16833320025

    Cooking Indoors with my 22.5

Well, I did my inaugural cook on the 22.5 - 8 boneless butts (61 lbs.)! 22 hours and 25 lbs. of Kingsford later, the cook went without a hitch, even through the wind and rain. Sorry I don't have any pictures; the pull party included beer!

    Cooking Indoors with my 22.5

I made this home for my new 22.5 WSM. Originally I was just going to staple a few pieces of plywood to block the wind, but this works much nicer. On my first trial I had no problem holding 225F temp with my stoker w/5cfm fan for 24 hours on 3/4 bag of Rancher charcoal. It wasn't cold, but there...

    Stoker Log 4.2

That's great. If I find I need any bigger I can use the magnifier in XP. Sure does makes me feel old.

    Stoker Log 4.2

Thanks, Amir! I think you're right about only displaying the pit temp, as the alarm will sound when the meat is done; and I prefer to think as little as possible at 3am. I would prefer a bigger font for the temp display - maybe user selectable? I'd like to be able to have my laptop further...

    Stoker Log 4.2

Amir, A million thanks for this program. One feature I would love to see added is a really, really big display of current temps. Maybe even a separate page that shows nothing but current temps in large print. This would help while sleeping, so one could monitor temps without lifting their head...

I need an automatic temperature control system!!

Just to follow up; I did get an email receipt and shipping confirmation from Rock's BBQ today. My stoker shipped out today via USPS 2-3 day.

I need an automatic temperature control system!!

I just ordered my system from Rock's. I had some questions, and it was a PITA to get a hold of someone by phone. I assumed it was because it was the holidays. When I did get someone they were helpful, and even adjusted my order to save $9 on shipping. I was also lucky to get a wireless bridge...

    First Brisket This Weekend

I'd go with the packer, trying to keep it under 12 lbs (at least make sure it's going to fit). Also, don't get nervous when the meat temp rises very fast, or discouraged when the temp stops rising (may even fall a little at around 175f). Start the cook around 6pm and get a good night's sleep.

    WSM in colors!!!

How about Viagra blue? That'll get the blood flowing!

    Tel-Tru BQ300 Thermometer Installation

It's also noteworthy that the Unibit you used is the best way, if not the only way, to drill a clean hole through sheet metal. Great job!

    WSM on a wooden deck?

A chain of events is required to light the house on fire. Smoking on the deck would only be the first event. Don't smoke on the deck and that chain is irreparably broken. My fear would be an animal tipping it over, considering the good smells 'n all. The fire can go low enough were a hungry...
