Thermometer Port on a Weber 22.5"

I'm a newbie to the WSM. When I first put the cooker together, everything went pretty smothly after I finally, with the help of my wife, got the heat shield and legs on (also added casters so I could move the monster from place-to-place on my patio). Intalling the thermometer port was another...

WSM Owners: Check-Out The Virtual Weber Bullet website

Thanks, Charlie. I kinda figured that was what was meant by "assembling" but I wasn't sure and I do appreciate your indulgence in answering what was a pretty basic (if not entirely stupid) question. Thanks to this forum, I'm about to get the courage to fire up what some of my non-cooking friends...

WSM Owners: Check-Out The Virtual Weber Bullet website

I'm a newbie here. Just bought a WSM 22.5" smoker. This seems like a dumb question, but I keep seeing instructions to "assemble the cooker" after the charcoal is laid and lit. Does that mean the cooker has to be disassembled (the center section removed) down to the fire ring and then reassembled...

Fiber Washers used in assembling new WSM 22"

Thanks to all. I finally did what Jerry suggested and they were kind enough to send me a nag of screwsm must and fiber washers at no charge.

About the Cajun bandit door (wsm 22.5")?

I just received my Cajun Bandit door. It does not prop open like the OEM. Altho the door seems to be a good tight fit, I plan to add Nomex insulation strips to the backside edges of the door.

My 22 wsm mods... Check it out!

I put casters on my 22.5 WSM and I love the way they permit me to move the smoker to the advantage of (or avoid) wind and move it under cover of my patio in the event of rain. Best mod I've done, aside from adding the Cajun Bandit Door and handle. I'm new to the WSM (moved up from an old and...

Fiber Washers used in assembling new WSM 22"

Thanks, Dwain - all they had was rubber and I can imagine the mess they'd make on the kettle once I fire it up. Thanks for the reply.

Fiber Washers used in assembling new WSM 22"

I'm in the process of assembling my new WSM. The parts included with the unit included the necessary screws, nuts and washers in a plastic bag. Unfortunately, the correct number of fiber washers needed weren't included (I'm 3 short). I hesitate to continue assembly without the fiber washers...

Great idea, Bob. That's a new approach I haven't tried yet.:wsm: Thanks for the welcome.

Greetings, I'm Dave, from Chandler, Arizona

I've been using a New Braunfels Black Diamond off-set smoker since 1996 and just stepped up a notch to a 22" WSM (which I'm struggling to put together at the moment - I think you must need 3 hands to get the heat shield on!). I've been a user of the Minion Method for several years and...
