I hear you. I guess I just don't understand where all these problems come from if you do the basics of sound parts and cleaning.
There is no better feeling of one click on a 22 year old genesis firing right up.
A lot of conversation of low temps lately and honestly a lot since I joined the forum. Talks about gas pressure and science projects to correct...
I have bought 3 old timers. A trashed Spirit 700 in 2017, a 1999 Genesis 3000 in 2020, and a Skyline 1000 in 2021. All had been around the block...
Bruce, I really like the bottom shelf restomod. Looks like it should have always been that way. I was wondering more for the side tables if anybody got that OEM look with off the shelf stuff. Sidenote, I wish we had menards back east. I went to one in michigan 3 year ago and walked around...
Buying, cutting, sanding, finishing, and installing real wood is satisfying and soul crushing at the same time. What the options are for composite materials? I looked at the decking stuff on Saturday and they only had something like this with the grooves on the underside and it was 5/4...
Here is a Genius II that was posted yesterday. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1546604075688966/
A genius II model with a silver B handle on a deep box complete with skyline basket. Where do you start with these people...
I have one of these out in the yard, it's a 5 bar model. I think in that 25 year run of that style of casting, they only had deep box and shallow box. I don't know of a 3rd. Replacement parts lump the old spirits in with the silver series too. If there is a specific critical dimension, I'll...
Now we're talking. A one owner carfax special of your grill makes it all the more worth it to keep it going. I'm slowly trying to convince myself that most things that were somewhat well built to begin with are infinitely fixable. The x000s are it. I used mine all summer, even today and...
A few options as I was told, and I went through the same anxiety myself. But in progressive order, you have to do the following.
1. If you already have a grill you like, keep using that.
2. If you don't want to use your restored grill, you have to sell it.
3. If you don't want to use it or...
So I've chugged though MHPs replacement parts site.

They don't sell directly there, but search that part number they provide and you might find something that didn't come out of the amazon jungle.
EXCELLENT work. Definitely curious how the coating survives the burn off. When I loaded my inside with all new stainless, the burn off let loose some fumes from either the new internals or paint overspray; it's a must and the final step before the big rib eye (or wings like I used, haha).
