This might make a nice Christmas gift for someone interested in butchering meat. Appears to be good quality.
 
Made out of 420 s.s., from what I've read is used for inexpensive knives, is difficult to sharpen and doesn't hold an edge well. They are tough though. If anybody needs this sort of knife, there are better choices. Just sayin'.
 
That's a lot of hardware for the $. Browning does 420 stainless better than most: Blades are 57-58 Rockwell C. They'll hold an edge just fine.
