Dicks drive-in is a Seattle based fast food burger joint with about 10 locations. I think It's an excellent job opportunity for Young people starting out in the city. I grew up in the country so I had different opportunities but anyway they earn $26/hour when fully trained, while Shift Managers earn an additional $8/hour above the base wage. The company is known for offering the highest wages and best benefits in the industry, including a 100% employer-paid health insurance plan for all employees and Dick's Drive-In offers its employees an Employee Scholarship Program, providing up to $28,000 for college or vocational education over four years. To qualify, employees must work at least 20 hours a week for six months and maintain that schedule while in school, or for two months of full-time summer work for high school graduates. The funds can also be used for childcare assistance if not used for tuition.

Not $180k+ a year but a good opportunity for a motivated kid in the city.

I’ve hear that Dicks drive-in in the Seattle area was really good.
I will have to try them if I ever get to Seattle.

I used to get In-n-Out in the early 80’s near Burbank.
They used to be two shacks on an otherwise empty lot the size of prefab yard sheds
One shack would have a cash register, fryer, griddle, the other shack would be for supplies and storage.
There was no dining or even a real parking area
Just a simple SOCAL “drive-through”.

$180k for a store manager?
Dang that is ballin for a being top dog at the burger place.
I would have never guessed.
Good for them.

I've never seen a slouch working at an In-n-Out.
Their teams always seem to have it going on.

Funny how they are booming while some of the others are closing up

Another chain that everyone was ready to go gaga for Raising Caines Chicken Strips. When this place opened over here in the same center my daughter's Office Depot is at her customers could not get in to the store. wife was curious and one night she said how about I pick us up some of that chicken. Both of us went "what's the deal?" Yeah it was OK but MEH. Quite bland, non descript. Both of us agreed Chick Fil A was WAY better (and IMO they're nothing to write home about. Then the reports of them wee being written by other people on local Social Media posts and was 2-1 saying MEH. And it shows. No more lines

I know some of the worst food I've ever eaten was at a 5 Guys. Was on an overnight layover in FLA so the crew was all together and when they saw a 5 Guys they went gaga. While they were all fawning over how great it all was I was gagging.
If we ever got an In & Out here I'd try it and give it an honest chance.
I agree, plus 5 Guys is just crazy expensive for a fast food joint.

I agree on Raising Caines. I love chicken tenders. Got a carry out order and it was soggy by the time we ate it. Anything that is breaded needs to be eaten in the restaurant.

My current favorite is the black-and-blue at lazy dog, but at $18.95 ( yeah it includes fries ) it's a bit spendy.

grilled half-pound beef patty, blue cheese, smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickle, red onion, blue cheese dressing

Pricey, yes. But it's a half pound burger plus fries. Hmm, Lazy Dog is 0.75 miles from where I'm currently sitting. Thinking...

taking this totally off topic from burgers, but my other favorite at Lazy Dog is Chili Cruch Ahi Tuna bowl $20.50

Sashimi grade seared rare tuna, furikake-seasoned rice, edamame, avocado, marinated cucumbers, pickled ginger, spicy garlic crunch, citrus soy dipping sauce [650 cal]

Oh and I forgot about this one. Its fairly recent addition to their menu:

Cowboy Ribeye Burger

Grilled half-pound beef patty topped with shaved ribeye steak, whoa nellie mexican-style lager cheese sauce, melted mozzarella + creamy horseradish sauce [1440 cal]

Dang. Since coming home from vacation, I’ve avoided the deep fried foods and greasy burgers. But that looks so good.

I'm a fan of the Bibimbap bowl there.
