A buddy of mine wanted to get a screaming glass shattering crash on a loop and pump that out when someone did something stupid. I kind of like the idea!
Boy, I remember back in the days of the "double nickel" needed CBs, radar detectors a "lookout" with binocs if you wanted to break the 60 mark. Now? We're back at 70, no one pays attention and you can blow by a trooper doing 85-90 and they don't even look at you.
A few decades ago, my commuter car was a 1978 white Honda Civic 1200, a little roller skate of a car. I was very often cut off because people just didn't see the thing. I did find a cheap little dual-note air horn that came with a little compressor, that I mounted under the hood. I got cut off a lot less after I started using that. Just a tip, if you do get air horns, point the trumpets straight down so that water will drain out in humid/rainy weather. Otherwise, they may sound like a drowning duck rather than a nice loud air horn under such conditions. On the ever so slightly legal side, I'm probably going to put a 140db or so horn on the Civic next spring. I'm getting tired of people trying to change lanes through me.
Great post, Roger!
