Yet another lump question

I know this has been hashed and rehashed almost to death, but I still got questions. While looking for after Christmas specials this morning,I found K charwood at the local grocery store!! YES! Pricey, but still better than cowboy. Then I noticed some "Full Circle" brand lump for almost half the price. Anybody know anything about this brand? With my luck, probably yet another cowboy off brand. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I used Full Circle for months during the summer (local store stopped carrying it for the winter)...was very pleased - got great review on nakedwhiz.

I have used Full Circle a few times with good results although the last bag I bought was 90% chips. I prefer Fire King.

Naked whiz gives Full Circle a "Recommended" rating, which is I think one below their top rating. Only thing he didn't like was the number of small pieces in the bag. Here is a link to their review:

Full Circle Lump

Hope this helps.

A lot of times, if the price is right, you just have to take a chance and try out something new and see how you like it. Just be careful, if you buy too much and don't like it you're screwed and if you only buy one bag and really like it you're almost guaranteed to go back to the store and find none left.

I hear you. I'm a firm believer in Murphy's Law!!

If you plan on using lump as your main fuel sorce, then you need to think about doing the double charcoal grate mod. Then you really don't need to worry too much about all the small pieces. But that said, remember if you do the double grate mod, this will cut down on airflow so you'll need to learn new vent settings.

Hey Bryan, been there done that. I'm just asking about about different brands of lump, because the only lump easily available is cowboy. So if I see another brand ,I ask my on-line family first. (of course after I posted that question,I remembered the naked whiz site!)

Phil,
You might consider checking out Wicked Good here $13.50 per 22 lbs if you buy 3. I don't know how much of an issue freight is to N.C., but I do see that they have a distributor in Virginia. I think their lump is excellent and gives long burns.
