Yet another Genesis rehab thread!

This one is our Gold C we purchased in 2004 from Modern Propane here in Lodi NJ (little plug for the local guy that goes the extra mile for their customers).
Photos show engine paint, don't use that stuff, use caliper paint or better yet find the 2200 degree stuff (Walmart -under $10). That orange you see in the photos peeled on me (engine paint 550 degree). The grill currently has silver sides, with the 2200 degree paint (haven't gotten around to take new pics yet). The 2200 degree paint has been holding on perfectly for a few months. The upper section of the cart has 650 degree brake caliper paint and is holding great. The bottom section did not get painted, would have taken too long to complete but can be done at a later date (touched it up here and there, threw new casters on it too).

That stainless is gorgeous! The orange sides are unique too bad it didn't hold Looks great! 20 plus years on ths grill is awesome. I think I'm on 24 years now on my Genesis Gold C grill.

In the silver it kind of looks like an older Summit. Like you suggested LMichaels (last year) , I ripped out that silly sheild that had rusted out. That's how the whole thing started in the first place. I would have left it alone otherwise, it worked fine, it just looks better now. Plus the left side of the top part of the cart had rusted out pretty bad ( I think due to electrolysis/dissimilar metals -steal frame & bolt on aluminum firebox). I broke one of the studs that holds the lid together, so I drilled it out, tapped the hole and threaded a stainless nut and bolt.

Yah, I was kinda hot on that orange. I like the "out of the box" attempt even if it didn't hold.

Vht makes some much higher temp paint, maybe you could get that orange in a higher heat range?
