When my brother was living in Chicago he used to say he was “Visiting the Provinces” when he came to Kalamazoo. If Michigan, is ten years behind the curve we are in a black hole here anyway! Only got a Trader Joe’s two years ago, no Whole Food, no “higher end” food sources, the higher end here is “Gordon food !”
You say “Wild Fork” or any really top notch food sources, one is met with blank stare! I have a few friends that have a grip and we always get a laugh when we start looking for some stuff. I find something that I really like, I get extra of “odd ball” ingredients (Peruvian chicken stuff) so, if I have them over and they go nuts for it, I can share the weird stuff.
I carry a cooler anytime I leave town ”just in case”!
