I put on a 7lb whole brisket this morning just to find out a line of t-storms were moving thru. 60 mph winds and torrential rain. I love a challenge!
 
The temp dropped 40 degrees during the torrential rain, but i'm getting thru the plateau right now. i should foil soon. It's been stuck at 167 for a while.
 
I guess I must be a sissy. After having one bad experience with high winds and rain leaving my meat covered in ash, when things start to blow up I finish in the oven. Like today for example.
The daily Colorado afternoon thunderstorms have commenced and I have 2 shoulders in the oven finishing up, currently at 184 degrees. Better safe than sorry in my opinion. Hope yours turn out just fine.
