WSM Cart Dimensioned Drawing

I saw this cart some time back & contacted Jamie about a drawing but never heard back. I don't know if he is still active on the site any more. My question to you all is has anyone built a cart similar to this? If so would you be willing to share drawings? Second question: if you have built a enclosed cart has in been useful or more trouble than it's worth? I can see where a cart like this could a little cumbersome to work with; getting it in & out to dump ashes & to add charcoal.

Thanks

No doubt a slick set up, and at first I considered making a version that I know wouldn't have looked anywhere near as nice as Jaime's. But, as you've mentioned, I realized it would be cumbersome to deal with, and you end up with another big thing siting out on the deck. I've already got a summit and a performer, and I keep the WMS in the garage. With a big cart, it would just be too much for the garage. That said, I got myself a EZ Up canopy, with side curtains, and two folding 5 foot tables, and this works great and offers me more functionality, especially in the rain/sleet/snow. I also have a rolling work cart with drawers that I use for automotive work and for the smoker too, so I find this a little more flexible and handles a wider range of needs, without the storage bulk. Still, that is an awesome looking piece no doubt, but knowing my version would look like crap in comparison, the aesthetic benefit for me would be way diluted, leaving just a bulky, cumbersome, and limited thing to deal with. Just my .02 fwiw.

Boy, using 4x4's for the corners adds some serious weight, regardless how nice it looks. A canopy and side tables is the way to go (a la Scotts' way).

The smokers covered and so are you :)

With those pics you don't really need a drawing to make one close enough.
In other words just wing it and make it the way you want.

Scott your way sounds more functional. I too keep my wsm in the garage. It's not bad dragging it out although I'd prefer it had a permanent place to live. As Tim stated a dimensioned drawing wouldn't be necessary. I came up with dimensions similar to the performer dimensions that will work if I elect to do it.

Hey Guys, I am new to the board and just got a WSM 18.5" to go with my Genesis E310. I am considering building an outdoor kitchen area under my covered patio. I am spec'ing out the plans for an L shaped area with the Genesis and storage on the right, and a bar on the left. I didn't really think I could do anything with the WSM because I thought it requires quite a bit of air flow for any type of cooking on it. Can someone please clear up for me whether or not enclosing the WSM in a cabinet like this could hinder your temperature control or anything? If not, I would love to have a permanent home for it built into the setup. Another question is, and I ask this because I really haven't done much cooking on it yet, but if I build it in, it likely means I have to do my cooking under a concrete covered patio. Are there issues with not cooking with the WSM out away from the house?
