Wood Handle Upgrade

Wow, that worked out really nice. They make those grills look classy! Cleaned up nice and spar urethane makes the wood look warmer.
I sprayed on three coats. It seems like the sides didn't really absorb the spar very much. Sides not shining near as much as the top flat surface, even the outside facing part of the lower piece is glossy.
Happy with them though. That Go Anywhere was worth the $15. I even fired it up yesterday, seems to get pretty hot, just needs a good cleaning...also going to make some cheap handles for them out of scrap wood since I stole the nice ones off.

Wanted to also let you guys know about Mark from River City Woodworks.

He was able to sell me a few handles that he already had made for a great price. I plan on using these on my grills at the house, but might use a couple on a nice kettle or Performer that I’m selling if I’m looking to fetch a premium price.

All but one of the handles say Kettleheadz, which is a Weber group on Facebook...not sure if they have a forum. He also included one that was a Weber logo one. They all look great

These handles looks and feel amazing, right on par with the ones I mentioned in my original post

His stuff does look top drawer. Couldn’t find any price information. Wondering how his pricing compares to the guy promotion the WKC and now selling on eBay. I have never been disappointed with his work, but even if you buy three handles it is still pretty expensive.

Looks really good! That is one way to bring back some charm and class to an unloved "taco shell" handle. They are safer (ask your knuckles ), but a lot of kettle fanatics hate those new handles.

Yeah I see people hating on them a lot. I like having the option of removing and replacing them. So many older kettles get the rust spots near the lid handle welds.

Kind of surprised we haven’t seen some custom metal handle brackets on the market, taco-less.
