wood for smoking

So I'm on the hunt for a new batch of wood for smoking and want to buy locally. I found a guy that seems to have reasonable prices and a pic he sent me looked like the cherry had bark on it. Does that affect the flavor or give any negative effect? The last big bag of apple I bought were Kingsford fist-sized chunks but no bark to be found.

Depends if it was from a place that uses pesticides, Those are a topical spray and a good nursery only treats the fruit, but can get on the bark.
Good news is you can burn off any nasties while firing up your chimney.

For the past few years I've ordered my chunks from Fruita Wood and when I read their "about" page they convinced me that I want bark. I just simply chose to follow their input: https://fruitawood.com/pages/about

I may not be able to bark a good talk but I can assure you that I detect the scent of their woods compared to when I used to buy bags from local retailers.
