Hi Mildo, I did not put it there cause I found for me that the entire Wok, the sides especially got hot and I did not get the high heat right at the bottom the way I like it. Usually I use the charcoal baskets and put them dead center and use the Wok Ring on the grates right on top of them for that intense bottom of the Wok heat but I forgot this time and just mounded them in the center. It worked.
