Wings on the WSM??

How many wings do you think can be done on a 22" at one time.

A contest I am considering is providing wings to be cooked for people choice. 20lbs is the minimum, and they will provide 40 or 60lbs. Up to me. I know I can't do that many and wonder if I could even get 20 in at once.

Is it an issue for how much dripping their will be on the bottom rack.

I have even thought of trying a 3 rack mod if need be.

You can easily cook 20 pounds of wings on the 22.5. Best wings I have ever eaten were the ones I made for the super bowl on the WSM.

You could even use a fourth, an 18.5" rack above the stock top grate. Higher temps would be harder, but i find that folks love wings whether the skin gets crispy or not. Good luck with 'em!
