Wild cherry wood

We are going to visit the in-laws in Oregon for Thanksgiving. I am going to rent a trailer to bring as compressor back. I asked my father-in-law to set aside some apple and alder for me. He said that he can get some wild cherry. We were both wondering if the wild cherry might produce a bitter taste. Has anyone ever used wild cherry?

There's no issues with wild cherry, with black cherry supposed to be one of the very best smoke woods there are. Lots of folks use all kinds of cherry though, so don't worry about it.

Excellent. Thanks guys. I mentioned it to my wife and she suggested that we buy bins to keep the wood chuncks seperate. I think my hobby is going to get interesting real soon.
