Wide slat Genesis?

Looking at this natural gasser as a potential deep dive rehab. Some elements look like an original wide-slat Genesis (wheels, single lower cross-bar, slide table setup, no casters). But other things (handle, 2-slat left-side table, newer side burner) puzzle me. Any thoughts?00D0D_11qHiF3qITV_0CI0iP_1200x900.jpg

Yah, that definitely looks like an older 3 slat grill. The handle is actually a Weber Grill out Handle Light #9057, but ti also looks like the caps on the ends that hold the batteries in are missing. The left table might be original or might even be designed to not have a table. It might be just a pair of handles like on the Weber Jr.. I am not familiar enough with the 1980's Weber grills to know if the side burner is original or not. I am sure that if it was a propane model that you would have have the tank gauge scale on the front right leg though. It has that old time metal bracket on the right side for the swing table.
To me, that looks like a pretty good candidate for rehab if you after an oldie in NG. If you wanted to convert to LP, it might be a dive that is deeper than you want to go.

That's one up my alley! My guess is that it was a NG Genesis 2 that someone later added a right hand side table (note the holder on the end of the frame) or maybe just tried to flip from the left to the right. I think the side burner was an add-on. They used to sell them as an upgrade. On the left side, I would have to assume that someone needed space for the grill to fit so they sawed off part of the frame ends.

Still, it does have some potential, but only as a keeper. If you want to flip a really old one like this, you need to find one that is more intact. Otherwise getting it up to par could be, as Bruce says, "a dive deeper than you want to go."😯.

These oldies CAN look really nice:

How much do they want for it?
It's possible that if the control panel is pristine, I would buy it from the new owner.
If the price is right, the new owner would have a free grill. ( Minus the control panel, but I could send back a newer one that fits)

Asking price is $75, but the ad has been up for a while. I reached out to the seller but haven't heard back.
