Where to hang digital thermometer ?

So I got a maverick 732 and love it. My only problem is where to pit the transmiter? I have a table next to it but wish I had something that was on the smoker.Any ideas would be helpful.
 
It's kind of a pain in the rear but if you do it just right you can hang it on the middle section. You have to do it so that the clip is wedged between the lid and the middle section. That way the transmitter gets kicked out so that the plastic is not touching the hot middle section. Kinda semi-permanent since you have to reset it if you lift the lid to baste or sauce or whatever. I have a small table that I keep mine on and my cooker never moves so thats about as permanent as it gets for me.

Sounds like you'd have to modify the body by drilling and installing a little platform or something. Overkill, if you ask me...
