Where is Temp measured on probe?

Here?s a question I haven?t seen asked yet of you thermometer aficionados out there:
Where is the actual temperature measured from on a Polder, Taylor, Nu-Temp..etc probe? Is it at the very end near the point or somewhere else along it?

It's measured at the end of the probe. On the Polder, you'll notice a demarkation between the shaft and the probe tip. The temp is measure beyond that demarkation.
