What model of Weber is this???

IIRC that is the Summit 425 (otherwise known as the Flat Top) pretty rare here in the US where the style is more closed lid cooking rather than down under where they do a lot of open grilling. They're cool grills but I sure would not give $400 for one. They have the same issues as all Summits from that era (late 90's to early 2000's) rust out in the front portion of the fire box. Cannot get replacements either

Larry, what did those things cost new it really looks in incredible shape from the outside. Looks like parts are pretty expensive for that also.

These were particularly popular in Australia where Weber marketed them more aggressively I think. They did, however, sell them here, too, as this example shows. Here is an Australian Weber catalog Chris added to our extensive site collection (scroll down and you will find the part about the Flat Top):

Man I am REALLLLLLLY GLAD that one is in Ohio. For whatever reason, it is one of my top dream grills. My interest has no objective basis:confused: since any large grill could be a "flat top" by just removing the hood, and as Larry points out it is essentially a Summit 425. (They also made a flat top based on the six burner Summit.) I also agree with Larry and others who note that parts would be hard and that pesky firebox issue with no ready repair option....BUT...it is just SO COOL:cool:

Don't really know what I would do with one besides show it off, but if I had the money and geographic opportunity I would bid on that one nonetheless. On a more practical level, at least it doesn't appear to be a rust bucket that would need tons of parts. A junker for $75 would wind up costing you a lot more assuming you actually could track down the parts you need.

Jon your really lucky it was in Ontario, Canada that would have been even a reach for a road trip. :)

Thanks for the replies guys! At least your money goes further here so it wouldn’t be all bad. About 30 cents on the on the 🇨🇦 $ right now approximately.

Cheersl

Oh wow, I guess I was mesmerized by the grill and didn't read the geography carefully:confused: Well, I am that much more glad that is far out of my reach. I would go pretty far for one of those, but not that far!

Cool find. Actually, I think cooking with the top open and high flame is officially called "Grilling" where cooking with a lid down and lower flame is called "BBQing". And Aussies like to use the term BBQ more so than grilling where it seems grill is used more often in the US.
