What are the exact parts needed to do a Weber Q regulator delete?

Nice work Samuel!
Thanks,
Once I finish wire wheeling the inside of the cook box. I may take a coat of paint to the outside.
Undecided if I want to paint the lid.
Do you strip the lids when you paint them or do you just lightly sand and do an overcoat.
I am not sure how far I want to go on this restore, I do want to do the delete though.

Prepping for a repaint all depends on the condition of the lid. If there are spots where the paint is peeling or chipping, then I suggest a full strip of the outside before repainting. But, if you can save the original finish, all the better. A good cleaning and maybe a very light sanding is all you need in that case.

What are the plans for the rest of the grill? Is it going to get a new paint job?
I was thinking of maybe some high heat VHT for the lid.
If I remember correctly, I think you did one in copper once. (do you have a pic?)

The lid is in pretty good shape.

advantages I can think of might be they are easier to deal with in divided format. Some people like to drop them in the dish washer or just handling them. But, on a Q1xx grill, they just are not very big even in a single grate format. In fact, when I bought my stainless steel grates for my Q220, I welded the two halves together rather than deal with the clips.

Bruce,
What do you like about having a single grate as opposed to a divided one.

I have done several colors. Black, Red, Green, Aluminum, Copper.
Most of mine were with the Rustoleum High Heat ultra offerings, but I know VHT offers other colors. If you find a color you like that you like that isn't a gloss or semi-gloss, you can add a coat or two of High Heat clear and it will pop.

Single grate is just more solid on the grill. No gap to deal with and it isn't like the small Q grates are all that heavy. Plus, if you have the older style grills that require the adapter clips, it is just simpler.

I have done stuff like that. Like forgetting to put the drip pan back on and then took all the photos for listing and flipping a grill. Then I didn't realize it until I was actually listing it and had to go back out and retake them.

Yes I know. The self consciousness in me wonders if the OCD in anyone here wants to see the correction or just laugh at my stupidity. Either way hopefully we are all entertained. LoL
