[/IMG]I posted in the classified section that I was debating between a new performer deluxe and a craigslist blue deluxe. I like the improvement on the new on but the cost vs this blue one was just too much. I will try to post a pic tomorrow but it is a 2010+ generation with gas assist and a cover. Cooking grate is shot but I have a spare. However, the gas assist is not sparking. I found a black wire and then a white one, both attach to the gas tube. The white one is disconnected, not the end attaching to the gas tube but the other end? Is that a ground? Where does it attach?

Overall, grill is in decent shape, not mint but it's in decent shape. For 100$, I couldn't pass it up

Update: that was easy, just looked under the grill and the wire attaches to the back of the push button igniter, it slide right on and took 2 seconds. The gas assist is now working.

So you actually got an even better deal than you were expecting. Great. I just posted in the other forum that I thought $125 was a great deal. This is even better. As for the igniter, I'm not familiar with this particular model, but I would imagine that one end of each of the wires goes to the igniter switch, the other end of one goes to the spark mechanism and one end of the other attaches to some metal part of the body as a ground.

I'm sure someone with more knowledge of this particular model will be more helpful.

Yes, I did. The seller said the igniter worked then it didn't and there was a loose corner on the table so they said, it is in worse shape than I expected, if u want it for 100 u can have it so I did. Suspect the igniter will be easy to fix but didn't fool w it, getting dark.

Good deal!
I'd pop for the Weber System grate.
I seldom remove the whole grate, just lift out the center portion to put charcoal into baskets, or to light a chimney.
Plus, it's more heavy duty than their standard grate.

I'm not familar w this but I have a brand new hinged grate, bought it at target when they were clearing out the grills for Christmas. Paid 5$, knew I would need it one of these days. Very happy igniter was such an easy fix...

Definitely a nice upgrade. Grate is much thicker/heavier than the standard hinged grate. If you wait around to the end of the season, you might be able to pick one up on clearance. last year, I lucked into a couple of them that included the cast iron sear grate as well. A guy over at the WKC had a line on a bunch that were being clearanced out.

Something else, if you like the metal table on the newer model or the extended lid bale, both are direct fit replacements on your Performer. You can order them both from Weber and do a table and lid bale swap.
