Weber Propane tank cover alternative

Just messin around and thought I'd try something brainstormed here. @Jon Tofte is the sticker/logo expert and started the first draft after our conversation and @Wilmer Cogburn had the excellent idea to put the sticker on a magnet sheet so you can reuse it on any tank. So I bought a couple Weber stickers and some magnet sheets.
I like it on the white tank put I think I want to try it on a black painted propane tank.
What do you all think?

Here is links to the stickers and magnet sheets if anyone is interested in making these also.

My opinion is that I think it is...less than subtle. It tends to draw the eye away from the more artful aspects of the grill. My preference would be something about the size of the artwork on the cover. But if your intent is to grab someone's attention down low, it definitely does that.

Notice how subtle the badge is on the lid? The eye is treated to everything else, then...oh...it's a Weber, like a signature. And I would leave the tank white, because tanks are expected to be white. Again, the tank is not the focal point of the grill...or is it?

Thank you for sharing your opinion Ed. I appreciate it. I've always thought the tank stands out a bit too much in white against the black frame. I think that's why I always like those Weber propane tank covers. Maybe I'll try making a smaller version of this also and do a comparison.

My original idea was more subtle. Matching Weber's original propane tank design. Maybe I can get Jon to print up a couple of these for me to purchase and try also.

Hey, it's your grill! If you like it with a black tank and with the magnetic decal, that's your personalized grill and your opinion is the only one that matters.

Of course but I'm happy to hear others opinions also. To get different ideas and try different things.
My thought was I really like the black propane tank covers from Weber and always thought they added a really nice touch to a restoration. I just wanted to play around and see if I could come up with something a little better. Of course any change is not going to be considered better to everyone. That's why I was asking for thoughts and opinions. I realize some people may like it and some people might think it's a bad idea altogether and some people may have ideas to do it a little differently. I'm just curious that's all. I don't base what I like on other people's opinions but I still like to hear them.

Maybe silver tank to match your silver themed Grill.
I want to try and find a blue to match the lid. Trying to find a 250-300 degree safe industrial paint for the lower cabinet panels. I think the tank would be fine heat wise... I will check with my local co-op prior to painting any tanks, just to make sure it is all good. Would hate to paint one up, and not be able to use it.

I don’t think gas places like black painted tanks, I may be wrong but I have a recollection of them being considered dangerous due to black absorbing heat from the sun, maybe “Massey Ferguson” gray? I may be completely wrong but, I thought there was a safety concern.
Excellent point, Tim! Who woulda thought (not me, that's for sure!)
