Is that for a 20 pounder? That's a bit steep!Well like everything looks like the pellets have gone up to $18.99 a bag.
I hope I can get some on sale again this winter.
I can’t really tell one from another either I’m just trying to generate consistent heat to cook and if the smoke is not what I’m wanting I just add a smoke tube although I’m no rocket scientist but my son n law is and youth gets in his way.Is that for a 20 pounder? That's a bit steep!
I've been buying the 40lb Bear Mountain Gourmet Blend bags online from CostCo. $25 shipped, and I honestly can't really tell the flavor differences between these and any of the 100% varieties, so they work for me!

This is great info. How are you sure of this. I’d make a trip to Cabellas and stock up.Cabela's (now Bass Pro) pellets are the same as Weber, made by Lumberjack, and are $10 a bag, last I checked. I usually just buy the Pit Boss Competition blend from Tractor Supply though, $15 for 40#.
Sure of the price? I have a BP very close to home and work and I go there fairly regular. It's been a few months since I bought pellets, but they were $9.99 then. Sure of them being the same as Weber? Just tribal knowledge from here and other online sources that say that both are made by Lumberjack, and the fact that they are the same smaller diameter pellet. They do offer more wood flavors than Weber though. This is great info. How are you sure of this. I’d make a trip to Cabellas and stock up.
A trusted colleague in Seattle called Lumberjack and confirmed this. He only runs Cabellas in his EX4.This is great info. How are you sure of this. I’d make a trip to Cabellas and stock up.

My only question would be that a lot of brand made companies produce products for other companies but it’s to their specifications. Are Cabelas pellets made with the same components as Lumberjack or lesser for a price pointA trusted colleague in Seattle called Lumberjack and confirmed this. He only runs Cabellas in his EX4.
That's a good question. All pellet brands that Lumberjack makes are 100% hardwood. I understand how lumber is graded but I can't imagine that there are different grades of hickory or Oak sawdust. The only thing that might make a difference is how much bark sawdust is in the final product but I'm speculating on that. LJ, Cabelas, and Weber have been measured and they're the same diameter. My only question would be that a lot of brand made companies produce products for other companies but it’s to their specifications. Your Momma may have raised a dummy but it sure wasn't you.Looks like I’ll be swapping to cabelas as soon as my stash runs out.
I would really doubt that on a mass produced product such as pellets, that they are breaking down the line and changing the product for different companies. My guess would be that only the packaging is different. My only question would be that a lot of brand made companies produce products for other companies but it’s to their specifications. I worked in a paper mill many years ago in the sheet room cutting rolls of paper into copy paper and we packaged all kinds of brand names. We would just change the ream wrapping paper for the particular brand, same paper.I would really doubt that on a mass produced product such as pellets, that they are breaking down the line and changing the product for different companies.
