Weber needs to make one of these!


 
I think a kettle with a Spider 22 pellet attachment would be very similar and offer the best of both charcoal and pellets.

I agree that the Spider attachment is pretty cool, and it does include a grease drain which I think is a big plus. This Landmann pellet kettle, I think, is likely to be capable of better high heat grilling, just because it was designed to for it, including the rotating deflector. On the other hand, the materials used are not as good as a Weber kettle.

Spider says that you cannot use their attachment on a Performer, but people have posted about successfully doing just that. One of those on a 1st generation stainless steel Performer frame would seem like a great setup. Same idea as what @Dave in KC did with merging a Recteq Bullseye with an SSP. I still think Weber has an easy way to get a better foothold into the pellet grill arena and needs to make their own!
